Dear Colleagues,
I know that during this past week and a half, many of us have been processing the appalling examples of racism and violence seen across the nation, and looking for ways to educate ourselves about issues of racial injustice. The College’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council has compiled a list of articles, books, and podcasts: “Promoting Racial Unity and Equity and Fighting Racial Prejudice, Discrimination, and Violence.” With the Summer Early Fridays program starting tomorrow and College offices closing at 2 p.m., I plan to spend some time on Friday afternoon exploring these valuable resources. I hope you may find time to do so as well in order to aid our efforts to move forward as a community that actively strives to combat racism.
