Sanctum

Sanctum is the first book in the Blackwater Pack series by Hannah McBride. “A survivor on the run, an alpha with a pack to protect, and a bond unlike any other.” The character development is absolutely astounding. She draws you in and makes you care about everything that’s happening. This is a fantasy novel that tackles bullying and abuse in a way that can be translated into real life, and has deeper themes that add to the complexity of a seemingly simple novel; I find it truly impressive. It is a relatively easy read for college-level students, but it is still a light and fun read! Skye is a powerful female main character who overcomes many adversities throughout the story and truly is a survivor. —Danielle Sanchez ’22
