The Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program is proud to mark the 100th anniversary of the enfranchisement of women in the U.S. with a presentation on and discussion of voter suppression, race, and the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S. with American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) voting rights attorneys Sonia Gill and Bobby Hoffmann. The event will take place Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. Register.
Gill serves as senior legislative counsel in the National Policy Advocacy Department of the ACLU, where she leads the organization’s federal advocacy work in voting and elections. Gill previously served as a senior policy counsel with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and has worked on criminal justice reform initiatives including advancing policing reform. Hoffman, deputy director of the ACLU Democracy Division, works with state partners to protect and expand the right to vote at the state level.
