I am writing to invite you to CREATE Resilience: Building the Vision, a virtual discussion forum to continue the work of the first two years of Nurture Nature Center’s CREATE Resilience project and begin a community dialogue about a shared vision for resilience in the face of natural hazards. The forum, on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 6:30 to 8:30 (register here), will feature a keynote presentation from meteorologist Gary Szatkowski, “Watching the Weather: Lessons From the Past, Visions for the Future.” After the presentation, participants will engage virtually in a variety of ways to share their ideas about hazards and resilience.
Upon registering you will receive a confirmation email with information about joining the webinar as well as a link to an online mapping activity to be completed prior to the forum. Participants who complete the mapping exercise, the forum discussion, and a brief survey afterwards will receive a $50 gift card for their time and effort.
Your participation is critical to informing reports to other area leaders, murals depicting local visions of resilience, and public education materials we will be developing. We hope you will be able to join us! Please see the Facebook event for more details, and share the event information with others who may be interested.
