Scott is responsible for organizing instructional labs in the Physics Department. When the College pivoted to remote teaching a year ago, he was faced with the daunting task of transforming courses with weekly in-person labs into entirely remote experiences. He worked diligently to find appropriate online activities, to develop an entirely new set of lab procedures, and to create and fine-tune teaching procedures for the labs. Thanks to his effort, remote labs have run smoothly and effectively over the past year. On top of this, Scott is universally praised by students for his superb instructional skills, and his energy and enthusiasm are appreciated by everyone. —David Nice, professor and head of physics
