A portion of the College’s rejected applicants will be offered admission to Lehigh.
Through a new annual arrangement between the two schools, a number of Lafayette’s rejected applicants automatically will be granted admission to Lehigh.
Lehigh officials proposed the partnership on the heels of the university’s climb this year from #72 to #65 in the U.S. News rankings of Top Undergraduate Safety Schools.
“Those college essays that describe your grit and determination will not go to waste,” the joint announcement says. “We’re confident that applicants who couldn’t meet Lafayette’s standards will find, as the cliché goes, that ‘something is better than nothing.'”
