Scholar-athletes challenge competitors' smarts
Lafayette student-athletes have received many Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards, and countless students have earned placement on the league’s academic honor roll. Now a group of student-athletes who take the field and courts at Lafayette want to show opponents how smart they really are. Patriot League officials are considering a Leopard proposal about pre-match Jeopardy!-like contests.
“It’s cool that our teams are winning more games now,” one student-athlete says. “Winning pre-game game shows would make it even more epic.”
The trivia games would be broadcast on Lafayette Sports Network between warm-up and game start. Wins and losses could be used as tiebreakers in the league standings.
