Vicki, Lafayette is very fortunate that someone as dedicated as you chose to join our Development and College Relations Division on Feb. 6, 2006. You began as a part of the professional support team. Reflective of the effectiveness that you had during your service to the College, you were promoted three times. As administrative coordinator in support of Vice President Kim Spang, you had a key role in empowering the success of our Development and College Relations team. In 2010, you were recognized with the Distinguished Service Award.
“Vicki truly made Lafayette a better place. She had a special way of enabling people to feel so comfortable,” Kim said. “Throughout her tenure within our division, she was dedicated. Her passion for Lafayette was evident every day. She had such a positive impact on so many members of the community.”
Kim also emphasized that you were effective in bringing alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends closer to the College. She mentioned that you had an unparalleled work ethic and professionalism and that you were exceptional in supporting and anticipating the needs of Development and the College.
“Vicki provided critical technical and non-technical support to all the members of her division. Her ability to manage details while balancing requests from trustees, alumni, parents, and staff was amazing,” Kim noted. “She handled confidential information and worked closely with trustees and major donors. She developed so many strong relationships both internally and externally. Vicki kept us all on track, and she is missed!”
You were renowned for your professionalism, dedication, and personal warmth, which were catalysts to the College’s success in fundraising and friend-raising over the years. President Alison Byerly said, “Vicki did a wonderful job in managing a wide range of different tasks, workflows, and relationships.”
Vicki, your talents and heartwarming dedication to the Lafayette community are treasured. Please know that you are missed. We hope you are enjoying your retirement.
