“I’m hesitant to submit a One Pard report about a sexual assault. Won’t it immediately trigger an investigation?”
The College is obligated to respond to reports of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. However, this doesn’t mean that it will automatically initiate an investigation. Upon receipt of a One Pard report, the Title IX coordinator or designee will reach out to the complainant, if known, to provide supportive measures and offer to meet to discuss resolution options. The complainant chooses how and whether they would like to proceed unless there is a compelling threat to health and/or safety. Supportive measures are available to the student regardless of whether they choose to file a formal complaint.
