Justin Jaworski ’21 made the most of his opportunities on the Atlanta Hawks’ NBA Summer League team.
After not seeing action in the team’s first three games, he hit one of two three-pointers in 9 1/2 minutes against the Miami Heat and sank two late free throws to help seal the game for the Hawks. He also recorded two rebounds, a block, and a steal. In the fifth and final game, he saw 22 minutes of playing time, hitting five of 10 shots, including four of seven three-pointers, to be the team’s second-leading scorer with 16 points. He also had one rebound and an assist.
While “Jaws” had to be considered a longshot to make the team from the outset, his performance may help open up opportunities to play professional basketball overseas.
