Reading this story of how Lafayette students, faculty, generous alumni, and the greater community collaborate to make amazing opportunities a reality, I was reminded of one of my all-time favorite novels, The Agony and the Ecstasy by Irving Stone. I read this for the first time many, many decades ago and was spellbound by the biographical tale of Michelangelo’s life and art. I’ve read it several times over the years and got my brother to read it and love it too. He and I got to visit Rome and Florence together and tour the Sistine Chapel; a trip that was a celebration of my graduation from Lafayette College! —Amy Blythe ’14, director of parent and family relations
