Trent Gaugler, associate professor of mathematics, will give the Jones Faculty Lecture 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3. Attend in person in the Kirby Hall of Civil Rights auditorium or via Zoom.
Trent will briefly describe some of his projects and how they reinforce particularly important principles about how we should approach data-informed decision-making. “In particular, we can think about the role of variability and how we can both embrace and respect it, and how this manifests in study design and analysis principles,” he says.
The talk is sponsored by the Thomas Roy and Lura Forest Jones Faculty Lecture and Awards Fund, established in 1966 to recognize superior teaching and scholarship at Lafayette.
