Meet the confidential advocates in the Farinon atrium 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 4. Stop by the table for giveaways and self-care items, and write letters of support to survivors in our community.
The advocates include Katy Bednarsky, Lafayette’s student advocacy and prevention coordinator. Katy provides ongoing confidential support to students impacted by sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. This includes information about reporting options, individualized safety planning, accompaniment, psychoeducation, and resource referrals.
Lauren Silva serves the campus as a visiting counselor from Crime Victims Council (CVC). If you or someone you know has been impacted by interpersonal violence and is looking for free counseling that is based in the community, you can encourage them to tap into this resource. Lauren is in Feather House 108 from 2:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. She is available for drop-in appointments (though appointments are encouraged by emailing her) as well as weekly counseling sessions.
If you would like to speak to a counselor outside office hours, call the CVC hotline at 610-437-6611. All CVC services are free and confidential.
