Scholarship & fellowship opportunities for seniors & recent graduates (October-December deadlines)

The following is a list of upcoming opportunities available to seniors and recent graduates for postgraduate study, summer intensive language study, or professional development. Keep in mind that this is but a mere sampling of the myriad opportunities that are available. Additional opportunities and extensive databases are available on our external scholarships website. Applicants interested in the Saint Andrew’s Society and/or Carnegie Endowment – Gaither programs must adhere to our campus application instructions and campus submission deadlines.

Approaching deadlines:

• Paul & Daisy Soros graduate/professional school funding for “new Americans.” Official deadline: Oct. 27
• LeadNext Fellows Program Leadership program for globally-minded changemakers. Official deadline: Oct. 31
• Payne International Development Fellowship Master’s program funding at U.S. universities, includes two State Dept. internships and postgrad studies assignment with a USAID program. Official deadline: Nov. 4
• DAAD Master’s Program Supports study in Germany. Official deadline: Nov. 4
• Critical Language Scholarship Offers 15 different summer intensive language programs. Official deadline: Nov. 15
• Saint Andrew’s Society of the State of New York Funds one year of postgraduate study at a Scottish university. Campus application deadline: Nov. 15
• Yenching Academy Fellowship Funding for a master’s degree at Peking University + leadership development programming. Knowledge of Chinese not required. Official deadline: Nov. 27 (12 noon Beijing time)
• Carnegie Endowment for International Peace – Gaither Junior Fellows Program One year professional fellowship working with senior fellows in D.C. at the world’s oldest think-tank. Campus application deadline: Nov. 29
• NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program Provides for Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. study. Scholars obtain their degree while conducting research at the NIH as well as either Cambridge or Oxford universities.) Official deadline: Dec. 1 (open to U.S. and U.S. permanent residents)
• NIH-GPP These NIH affiliated graduate programs at different universities in the U.S. or abroad provide funding for S. and International students (depends upon the university partnership program) Official deadline: Dec. 1
• Gates Cambridge Scholarship Provides graduate funding at Cambridge University for international students or U.S. citizens currently residing outside of the U.S. Official deadline: Dec. 1 or Jan. 5 (depending upon course of study)
• Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship Funding for doctoral study at U.S. universities. Official deadline: Dec. 15
