Forty-eight students brewed up their own blends as part of a coffee showcase Mon., Dec. 12. Eleven teams comprised of students from two modules of ES101 (Intro to Engineering) and FYS 143 (Coffee Showcase) competed.
“Students were asked to establish a target audience that they were creating their coffee designs for (which was other students for the vast majority of groups) and then select origin countries, roast temperature, coffee preparation, and additives based on their designs,” says Professor Joseph Woo. “Many groups floated surveys, or asked friends and family, yielding the wide variety of products.”
President Nicole Hurd joined the owners of Three Birds Coffee House in Easton to sample and judge the final products.
