Dyer Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship reminds students that attendance in two workshops is required to participate in the fifth annual Real Estate Case Competition on May 3.
The workshops are:
Commercial Real Estate Income Proforma Workshop
Feb. 15 at 7 p.m., Dyer Center, 330 Rockwell Center • MORE
Financial Modeling of CRE Investment Workshop/Panel
March 22 at 7 p.m., Dyer Center, 330 Rockwell Center • MORE
One of Dyer’s signature events, the Real Estate Case Competition immerses Lafayette students into the world of real estate development. Participants receive practical tools and techniques in real estate, work with an industry mentor as they conduct a project feasibility analysis on an actual development project, and present their recommendations to a panel of industry experts.
Dyer Center is partnering with the Urban Land Institute for this year’s competition. Student participants will have access to ULI’s Foundation of Real Estate educational modules to prepare for the case competition and will be eligible to complete the commercial real estate certificate program through ULI.
As a lead up to this year’s competition, Rex Ahene, who retired last year after 40 years serving as a professor of economics, is teaching the Real Estate Investment Decisions Seminar this semester, a hands-on experience that brings students face-to-face with alumni and guest speakers who are involved in the real estate industry.
