To all students,

We write to communicate important and immediate changes to the operation of the LCAT Shuttle serving the Williams Arts Campus. We also write to acknowledge and to apologize for repeated inconveniences caused to users of the shuttle since the start of spring semester. We have heard your feedback and are taking action to make transportation up and down the hill more reliable.

On Fri., Feb. 24, Arts Campus faculty and staff met with Lafayette Public Safety and with representatives of Easton Coach, the shuttle vendor. Another meeting, with the third-party supplier of the shuttle’s mobile tracking system, was held yesterday.

Effective immediately:

• The Arts Campus Shuttle loop has been streamlined to enable the shuttle to reliably follow published departure times. The shuttle schedule has been revised and simplified, with times added to synch better with the start and end of classes.

• The Ride Systems Tracker (app and desktop) has been repaired and is now operational.

• Arts Campus faculty and staff, with Lafayette Public Safety, have followed up with the shuttle vendor regarding issues raised via student feedback, and we seek ongoing student feedback to ensure the service improves. Provide feedback here or direct email to publicsafety@lafayette.edu.

• The local LANTA 214 bus service is a supplemental transportation option available free to students with the use of their Lafyette ID. The regular LANTA bus stops within a block of the Arts Campus and on Cattell Street. LANTA live bus tracker.

We recognize the importance of making changes to a system that is not working, and we are committed to getting this right. Reliable transportation up and down the hill is essential, especially with the steps under construction and with the weather unsettled. We think these changes will make an immediate difference. We encourage you to use the shuttle and report any difficulties or issues going forward. We will stay on top of this. Many thanks for your attention and patience.
