In celebration of Women’s History Month, Dining Services will host a springtime pop-in with Herbalist Cheryl Karcher, of Hilltop Herbals. Many on campus may recognize Cheryl as a key member of Dining Service’s front of house staff! Her event will focus on how to feel refreshed for spring and improve health through springtime spritzers. Mark your calendar for this pop-in 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 23 at Marquis.
Rounding out the month is National Farmworker’s Awareness Week (March 25-31). This year, Dining Services is highlighting the impact of climate change on farmworkers with a unique activity that will challenge students to accomplish something every farmworker is expected to do: lift 32 pounds of tomatoes. Test your strength and learn about the seriousness behind this topic at a tabling event 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 28 in Marquis.
Did you know? Dining Services is collaborating with the Office of Sustainability for a new program called Leopard Leftovers that aims to help end food waste and food insecurity on campus. The program enables students to become aware of leftovers from catered events that can be picked up free of charge.
