This April, in celebration of Earth Month, Dining Services is joining forces with the Office of Sustainability to elevate eco-friendly best practices and opportunities on campus. Check out these seven events and specials:
- Breaking bread: Attend a Baking Demo and Earth Month opening keynote address with local baker and entrepreneur Melanie Lino (Mon., April 3 Baking demo: 2-3 p.m. • Marquis Hall; Keynote: 4:15 p.m. • Kirby 104)
- Eat Local Dinner: (April 19 at Marquis, featuring LaFarm and other dining partners)
- Earth Day lunch: (April 26 at Upper Farinon, highlighting the importance and versatility of beans with a culinary competition.)
- EarthFest: Dining Services will participate in the eco-friendly fun. Look out for the food truck and local partners. (3-6 p.m. Fri., April 21 • MORE)
- ‘Less Meat Mondays’: Discover a variety of meat alternatives every Monday in April at Marquis and Upper, all-you-care-to-eat dining halls.
- Participate in Leopard Leftovers: Dining Services is collaborating on this new program with the Office of Sustainability to help end food waste and food insecurity on campus. The program enables students to become aware of leftovers from catered events that can be picked up free of charge. Sign up for the group and learn more.
- Get your fruits and veggies: Dining specials to try Tues., April 4—Carrot Bisque and Carrot Cheesecake in Marquis all day. Plus, ECO Café is featuring Strawberry Mango Smoothies in April! Experience the refreshing sweet blast of this fruit smoothie while supplies last.
