Beginning printmaking students will be selling their T-shirts and posters from 3-6 p.m. April 21 as part of the Earth Day Fest on the Quad to raise money for victims of the earthquake that struck parts of Turkey and Syria in February.
They will also be selling the items from 4:30-7:30 p.m. April 22 during The Festival of Paint on the Quad.
Students of Pedro Barbeito, assistant professor of art and director of the Experimental Printmaking Institute, designed a T-shirt, and the class voted on the top four designs (two for Turkey, two for Syria). These designs are featured on T-shirts and posters. His printmaking classes did a similar project in 2022 and raised $2,000 for Ukraine.
Their efforts were recently featured on WFMZ-Channel 69 News:
T-shirts are $20, and posters are $15 (or both for $30). Funds will support the Turkey and Syria Earthquake Fundraiser, organized by the International Student Association.
