The current U.S. ambassador to Senegal, Michael A. Raynor, is a Lafayette alumnus. He has enthusiastically agreed to meet with the Study Abroad class INDS 174 in Dakar, Senegal to talk with them about his work and to share Leopard stories! The students and faculty leave Dec. 29 for the course and return Jan. 19. The lead professor is AFS chair Wendy Wilson-Fall. The Program Chair for International Affairs, Professor Angelika von Wahl, will also be present at the lecture in Dakar. News about the Hatfield Lecture series, the IA Africa concentration, and collaboration between AFS and IA will be shared with the Ambassador. Thanks go out to alumnus John Hatfield for his ideas for this visit.
