The College’s newly-formed Division of Inclusion brings together the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and the Office of Intercultural Development. This change, announced in March, brings together several groups that support the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

“This restructuring was designed around the goal of building a more inclusive community,” says VP Ernest Jeffries, who leads the Division of Inclusion. “Through this commitment, our department has grown, and a few new faces added, to allow us to better serve the needs of our community.”

Division of Inclusion

Kimberly Weatherly joined the inclusion team in July as executive director of intercultural development reporting to the Vice President. Her professional journey is defined by a deep commitment to advocating for and uplifting systemically minoritized groups within academic environments.

“What attracted me to this position is Lafayette’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion at a time when these values are under national attack. While other institutions may be retreating or dismantling initiatives that support students of color and diverse identities, Lafayette is taking a bold step forward by establishing a new Inclusion unit outside of Student Affairs, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to thrive,” Weatherly says.

Weatherly has worked at historically Black colleges and universities, state universities, Catholic Lasallian institutions, fine and performing arts schools, and public ivy league universities, including her most recent role as assistant dean and director of the Center for Student Diversity at William & Mary. Her office is located in Markle Hall, Room 060. Contact Kimberly. The Office of Intercultural Development reports to her and is located in Farinon College Center. Her team includes:

  • Janine Block, associate director-international student advising and support. Contact Janine.
  • Gabby Hochfeld, assistant director of intercultural development/coordinator of gender and sexuality programs. Contact Gabby.
  • The College will soon post a job and initiate a search process for a new assistant/associate director of intercultural development.
  • Erin Albus, office coordinator for intercultural development. Contact Erin.
