There’s a wide variety of opportunities to participate in interesting and important activities this week! Explore ways to get involved on campus. Here are five events for the week!

  1. Voter Registration Fair: Celebrate both Voter Registration Day and Constitution Day and register to vote. Receive help from members of Lafayette Votes! to register in your home state or Pennsylvania.   2. Applying to grad school: Seniors, interested in applying to graduate school? Be sure to attend this session to learn how to craft personal statements, resumes, and CVs.   3. Music, Identity, and Entrepreneurship workshop: Support the arts this week and witness the artistic vision of Fabiola Méndez. Co-sponsored by the Music Department, Dyer Center, Latin American and Caribbean studies program, and more, gain insight into Méndez’s mission. Fabiola Méndez is a Puerto Rican singer, Emmy-nominated composer, cuarto player, educator, and more. Before her Williams Center show (Sept. 21, free student tickets!), Méndez will dive deep into the roots of Puerto Rican folklore, Afro-Caribbean music, and storytelling to share a bit about her composition process. 3-4 p.m. Fri., Sept. 20 • 262 RISC • MORERSVP required
  4. Volleyball vs. Colgate: Attend the kickoff to Patriot League play with volleyball’s home game against Colgate. The Leopards started their season off strong with big wins, including against top program Virginia Tech.   5. Thomas Mann: Democracy Will Win!exhibit: Interested in democracy? Explore the traveling exhibit from Thomas Mann about his life and writing, specifically about the evolution of his democratic ideals. In an exhibition at the Williams Center lobby, learn more about sociopolitical issues in Germany and the U.S. Even if you can’t make it this week, the exhibit is on display through Oct. 25. 317 Hamilton St. • MORE
