In light of Sustainability Month, the Office of Sustainability is excited to share news from LaFarm, a key sustainability initiative at Lafayette. Located at the Metzgar Field Complex, this 3-acre farm cultivates vegetables and flowers, supplies dining services, recycles compost, and fosters student-faculty collaboration. So far this season, LaFarm has distributed 14,000 pounds of produce to community partners. Of that total, 37% of the veggies have been distributed to food pantries, and nonprofit organizations including the Kellyn Foundation, Easton Hunger Coalition, and Project of Easton. LaFarm also makes fresh tomato sauce and salsa for sale at the farmstand. LaFarm is collaborating with various courses on research this semester.
