Monika Rice, Robert Weiner and Ilan Peleg Scholar in Jewish Studies and assistant professor of Russian and East European studies, was recognized by two leading organizations in the field. Her article “Dr. Arnold Mostowicz: ‘Not Alone in Space.’ Moral Injury and the Quest for Extraterrestrial Redemption,” Jewish Culture and History 25, received honorable mention for the 2025 Polish Studies Article Prize (awarded by the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies) and honorable mention for the 2025 Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia Article Prize for an Outstanding English-Language Research Article in the Social Sciences by a Junior Scholar Published in a Peer-Reviewed Journal (awarded by the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies).
