Don’t miss the LAST MAAD (mathematical adventures & diversions) talk of fall semester: Thurs., Dec. 4, 12:15 pm, Pardee 217.
Prof. Michael Dougherty will provide an overview of noncrossing partitions and some results from previous work of mine with undergraduate coauthors Cohen, Harsh, Martin (2022); Fang, Jiang, Lin, Lindenmuth, Pokras, Root (2024); and Root (2025). This will include some connections to combinatorics and abstract algebra, but no prior background will be needed. All are welcome!
