Many people have a favorite spot on campus to study and get work done. But after a whole semester of working in the same spot, it might be time for a change. Here are some areas to check out during finals week to spice up your studying environment.
f you need to lock in to get a task done, reserve a private study room in the library. The cozy little spaces have whiteboards if you want to visualize your study materials and also block out all surrounding distractions. RESERVE
An array of disciplines are offered at Lafayette, meaning many different academic buildings are available to work in. If you are a STEM major and often study in Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center, try studying in Oechsle Center for Global Education. Or if you are frequently in Pardee, find a spot in Acopian Engineering Center or William E. Simon Center for Economics and Business to work. The change in scenery could help you become more engaged and focused–and you may just find your new study spot for the spring semester.
There is nothing better than writing or studying in a cafe with a hot coffee or tea to keep your energy high. Close to Lafayette, there are a variety of coffee shops available for students to grab a drink and work. These include Mojo 516, just a block off campus, ThreeBirds Coffee House (226 Bushkill St.), and Agamon Bakery and Cafe (100 Northampton St.). The Easton Public Market also has lots of good seating areas, and you can grab a tasty bite while working.
