Each year, Gateway Career Center offers a Summer Internship Stipend Program to all students who are applying to summer programs (paid or unpaid positions) to offset expenses. The stipend program has four different areas of funding for students applying to a minimally financially supported summer position.
Applications for the Summer Internship Stipend Program open Jan. 26 and closes at noon March 23.
“The biggest misconception students have is that [the funding program] is only for unpaid internships, or that you have to have landed or secured your internship to qualify. Neither of those are true,” says Alexis Leon, associate director of experimental learning.
Thanks to the generosity of alumni and parents, stipends of $1,000-$3,000 are made possible. For students to be considered for funding, the applicant must have already applied for internship positions, and the internship must be for at least 240 hours.
