Lafayette Allies for Gender Equity (LAGE) is a learning community for male and nonbinary faculty and staff seeking to build capacity as allies and advocates for gender equity, one of the groups organized under the Hanson Center’s umbrella. LAGE has varied its membership during the semesters that it has met since its start in 2017, typically drawing on new individuals who have not previously attended. Larger meetings have also included past participants.
A given cohort’s membership of six to nine attendees meets about once a month over lunch to discuss readings and explore allyship.
