Every fall and spring semester, Gateway Career Center hosts a Career Fair for all students at Lafayette. Representatives from a variety of organizations and companies attend the fair to promote their industry and recruit students for open positions. Before each event, Gateway has a variety of resources available for students, including a Career Closet, professional photo studio, and tips to formulate an elevator pitch. During a Career Fair, it is important to be prepared with an elevator pitch to present who you are to different organization representatives.

Elevate your look

Along with developing a personal pitch to share with employers, a professional headshot and outfit are also important components for the Career Fair. Gateway offers a photo studio for students if they need a new professional headshot for an online profile, such as LinkedIn, Handshake, and GatewayLink. The photo studio is accessible by appointment 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Gateway also has a Career Closet where students can find a professional outfit for the Career Fair or other professional event, at no cost.
