In late 2025, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed the Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair (CROWN) Act into law. The College’s Policy on Equal Opportunity, Harassment, and Non-Discrimination has been updated to reflect the new law, which prohibits discrimination on traits historically associated with race (hair texture and protective hairstyles) or religion (head coverings and hairstyles historically associated with religious creeds).
