Student Government’s Mental Health Initiative is hosting a panel discussion facilitated by Melissa Garrison, director of the Counselor Center, on May 10 from 12:15-1 p.m. The goal is to open dialogue between students and faculty on mental health best practices and our shared struggles during this challenging year.

Registration will close on May 7 with a cap of 25 faculty participants. We ask that faculty members complete the Kognito Training provided by the Counseling Center before the event. The training only takes 20-30 minutes and is free.

We encourage professors from all departments to register and suggest questions for our panelists. In this very stressful time for both faculty and students, it’s incredibly important to remember to prioritize mental health and engage in candid conversations about wellbeing. We hope that this event can inspire more faculty to complete Kognito Training and to help one another and students take advantage of the resources provided by the Counseling Center.
