One more welcome to the Class of 2025!
This message invites you to consider applying for Science Horizons (SH), an opportunity in the biology department for ongoing student mentoring. SH is a co-curricular voluntary but selective series of personalized sessions with biology faculty. We are focused on retaining students in biology specifically and science generally, and particularly first gens, BIPOC, those of lower socioeconomic status, and students underrepresented in science.
To learn more, reply to Profs. Laurie Caslake and Nancy Waters no later than Monday, Sept. 6, by 1 p.m. ET and indicate your interest. We will host an information session at lunchtime on Sept. 10, location TBD based on responses. You can decide then if you want us to consider you as a candidate for the Science Horizons 2020-2021 Cohort.
We realize classes may run across lunchtime. So come when you can and leave when you must, but reply and show up if you are intrigued! We will be serving pizza, so you need not miss lunch. We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you on Friday the 10th!
