On the second Annual World Piano Day Celebration, the 88 keys on the Williams Center’s Steinway D will come alive to explore the interplay between science and music!
Events include:
(1) A student panel discussing how their interests in both science and music inform one another. 12:15-1 p.m. Thurs., March 28, Gendebien Room.
(2) A science lecture from Prof. Victor Batista (Yale University) on quantum computing and interpreting quantum technology through music. 4-5 p.m., Thurs., March 28, Hugel 103.
(3) The World Piano Day Concert with performances by Lafayette students and faculty, and World Premiers by student composers. 8pm, the Williams Center for the Arts. 8-10 p.m. Thurs., March 28 • Williams Center for the Arts
Funding for these events is provided by the Music and Chemistry depts, The Forum for Technology and the Liberal Arts, and the Lafayette Arts’ Arts and Technology Grant.
