As a new semester begins, remember that many will participate in religious observances over the upcoming term. See this article posted in a 2023 CITLS newsletter for information about considering religious observance in course planning. The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life website also has a list of religious holidays in 2025.

Details to keep in mind:

  • Review details of the Dean’s Excuse process.
  • Requests are made for many reasons (see article above). Some students may require an extra day on each end of their request if their observance requires travel.
  • Ramadan, Lent/Easter, and Passover are celebrated over the next three months, so many in the Lafayette community have religious observances this semester.
