Lehigh Valley Business has selected Lafayette College’s Simon Center for Economics and Business to receive a 2025 Top Projects Award.

Top Projects is an awards program that honors the best building and construction projects in the Lehigh Valley that were completed between January and December 2024. The awards are not only a look back at the excellent work that’s taken place in the previous year, but they also anticipate how these plans and projects potentially establish landmarks of the future.

“I am grateful to all who brought this exciting and transformative project to completion. It truly was a team effort,” says Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration Audra Kahr. “The new Simon Center for Economics and Business enhances teaching and learning for our faculty and students, creates new areas of collaboration, and supports the College’s top-tier educational experience.”

Projects were judged on the following criteria: degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors, management, and in some cases government, adaptive reuse, and sustainability efforts. In addition, the projects must have been located in Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Lower Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Upper Bucks, and Schuylkill counties. Winners of the 2025 Top Projects Awards were chosen by the editors of Lehigh Valley Business.

“The 2025 Top Projects awards are literally changing the landscape of the Lehigh Valley. Their innovation, design and construction are creating projects that are making a mark on the community,” says Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/Lehigh Valley Business. “We at Lehigh Valley Business are pleased to honor these incredible individuals and businesses who help to make the Lehigh Valley a wonderful place to live, work, and play.”
