Lecture and workshop by Hanson Center Visiting Scholar Ebony McGee

The Hanson Center for Inclusive STEM Education is thrilled to welcome back this year’s Hanson Center Visiting Scholar, Ebony McGee (Johns Hopkins), for two thought-provoking presentations Thurs., March 6:

• “Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Structural Inclusion in STEM Courses and the Case for Afrofuturism”: McGee will discuss Afrofuturism as a transformative framework for reimagining an inclusive STEM future. Lunch will be provided. 12:15-1 p.m. • Hugel Science Center, Room 100
• “Disrupting Normativity: A Critical Examination and Reconstruction Toward a Structurally Inclusive STEM Curricula/Culture”: In this faculty/staff workshop, McGee will examine systemic barriers in STEM and strategies for equity-driven curriculum reform. 4:15–5:45 p.m. • Simon Center for Economics and Business, Room 109
