Mark your calendar for International Students Association (ISA)’s annual Extravaganza. The weeklong celebration features events open to the campus community. The week kicks off Sat., April 19, and runs through Sat., April 26, featuring an international poetry night, Pecha Kucha, fashion show, food tasting, and a grand finale.
Janine Block, associate director of International Student Advising and Support says Extravaganza began back in the 1970s with hired performers.
“Over the decades it has grown into a week-long celebration spearheaded by ISA to showcase the beauty and traditions of the many cultures represented within our community,” Block says. “I am always impressed by the talents shared by our students as they perform in the Grand Finale, cook traditional dishes from back home for the Food Tasting, and bring their unique perspectives to classroom discussions and interactions on campus.”
