Lafayette will welcome Alison Dougherty as its new associate vice president, Human Resources. Her start date at Lafayette will be June 2.

“Alison brings to Lafayette deep and broad experience that will strengthen and enhance our work together,” says Executive Vice President, Finance and Business Audra Kahr. “She stood out immediately for her collaborative work, courageous leadership, and ability to handle complex matters with empathy. I look forward to her joining our community this June.”

Kahr also extends her gratitude to the staff and faculty who participated on the search committee: AVP for Operations Geoff Labe, VP for Inclusion Ernest Jeffries, General Counsel Tim Cedrone, and Dean Lisa Gabel, as well as those who attend the open Q&A sessions.

Dougherty previously served as assistant vice president, Title IX and Equal Opportunity after serving as executive director-talent management at Drexel University. Prior to Drexel she worked at Saint Joseph’s University as director-talent management, equal opportunity, and deputy Title IX coordinator, and later became the interim vice president-Human Resources. Before Saint Joseph’s she was the associate vice president of human resources and Title IX coordinator at Widener University.

Her research and doctoral dissertation at Northeastern University focused on higher education leadership in organizational change and institutional courage. Dougherty embraces the qualities of humility, courage, and kindness in her work.
