Lafayette’s Integrative Engineering Program is now fully accredited by ABET, with accreditation applying to all graduates from 2023 on. This marks the first new B.S. engineering program at Lafayette to earn accreditation in over a century, the result of a division-wide effort to design, launch, and guide the program through ABET’s rigorous process. Congratulations to Prof. David Brandes, founding chair of integrative engineering, for leading the accreditation work; Lauren Anderson, dean of faculty, and Prof. Scott Hummel, who were instrumental in shaping the program’s collaborative design; and Walter A. Scott ’59 for his enduring support. Established in 2019, integrative engineering offers a flexible, systems-thinking framework with focus areas in bioengineering, robotics, or environment and energy.
