Join the Hanson Center for Inclusive STEM Education for lunch and discussion with Jessica Cantlon (Carnegie Mellon University) and a lead scientist in the Science Homecoming initiative. Science Homecoming encourages researchers to write op-eds for their hometown papers advocating for investment in American science—showing how research fuels innovation, improves health, and strengthens communities. Prof. Jennifer Talarico (psychology) will facilitate the discussion with Cantlon, who will join virtually to share the vision, impact, and lessons of the initiative. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome. This is part of the yearlong series Forging Connections: Championing Science, Learning, and Higher Ed Through Effective Communication. Lunch provided by the Hanson Center. 12:15-1 p.m. Tues., Sept. 30Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center, Room 262MORE
