It can be hard to make sense of different hardships and traumas that we may have experienced. Expressive writing is a tool that’s been studied and found to have a positive impact on our ability to understand and cope with how past events shape our present experiences. The Counseling Center will be hosting an expressive writing workshop for students who have experienced trauma. This workshop will be an experience for individuals to write and reflect on their experiences through guided prompts. Students also will have an opportunity to learn and practice a variety of coping skills throughout the group in addition to journaling. Fallyn Lee, staff psychologist and prevention coordinator, will be facilitating this group. The start date and time is to be determined upon students’ availability. Request more information.
