Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are powerful computer mapping applications that have become increasingly accessible to beginners. The College subscribes to ArcGIS Online (AGOL), a web-based GIS, which is available to all with Lafayette credentials. Because it is so user-friendly, one short introductory workshop can get users started and making their own maps. Join John Clark, librarian, for a hands-on introduction to AGOL. Bring your own laptops, and we’ll dive right in, learn the basics, and make our own maps. A limited number of laptops will also be available for use in the workshop. This introductory workshop will be followed a week later by second AGOL workshop introducing beginners to a bit more advanced GIS functionality. #mapsonweb 2-3 p.m. Fri., Feb. 6Skillman Library, Room 003MORE
