Action required: Mandatory vishing and smishing training starts Tues., Feb. 24

Following last week’s message from CIO David Lifka regarding the recent security breach at Harvard, Lafayette College is taking the next step to fortify our campus defenses.

To ensure our community is fully prepared to handle the sophisticated vishing (voice) and smishing (SMS) tactics described in that update, ITS has partnered with InfoSec Institute to provide an interactive training module. This mandatory training will guide you through simulated scenarios to help you practice identifying and avoiding high-pressure social engineering in real time.

Next steps:

• The training will launch Tues., Feb. 24. Look for an email from notifications@infosec-training.lafayette.edu on Tuesday morning with specific instructions on how to access the module
• Completion deadline: All training must be concluded by March 20.

Note: If you were already assigned and completed vishing and smishing training the week of Feb. 16, you have met this requirement and will not receive a new enrollment email from InfoSec IQ.
