A devastating fire Feb. 20 at the Hotel Hampton displaced 40 residents in Downtown Easton. First responders worked for hours on the three-alarm fire, with aid rendered from several neighboring fire departments. Bobby Lewullis, a full-time firefighter with Wilson Borough, was one of the first responders who answered the call. Lewullis, son of Sandra Rogers, Lafayette’s assistant director of public safety, sustained serious injuries and remains in intensive care.
“Our hearts go out to Sandra and her family, as well as the many neighbors and businesses who have been affected by this horrible fire,” said President Nicole Hurd. “We are grateful to the first responders and those throughout our community who jumped in to help. Many have reached out to ask how to help our Easton community going forward, and we’ve been in contact with community partners to see how we can assist.”
