Following the recent Department of Public Safety email regarding fraudulent text messages targeting students, Lafayette College is taking steps to help our community stay one step ahead of scammers.
To ensure you are prepared to handle the sophisticated vishing (voice) and smishing (SMS) tactics used in the recent parking pass scam, ITS has partnered with InfoSec Institute to provide interactive training. We strongly encourage all students to participate. The module uses simulated scenarios to help you practice identifying and avoiding high-pressure social engineering in real time.
ITS will never contact you by phone to perform emergency patching on your machine or ask for your password.
If you believe you have accidentally shared information or interacted with a scammer, contact the Help Desk immediately at help@lafayette.edu or 610-330-5501.
Thank you for your commitment to keeping yourself and our campus community secure.
