As shared in a recent email from President Nicole Hurd and Provost Laura McGrane, all members of the campus community are invited to attend an open lunch March 24 with Reha Shackelford, vice president for institutional field relations, Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
During the lunch Shackelford will provide an overview of the self-study and reaccreditation process. Please RSVP by Mon., March 23.
Reaccreditation is a multistep review process where higher education institutions demonstrate and evaluate that they meet quality standards. It’s a rigorous collegewide assessment that was last completed at Lafayette in 2019.
“Though the reaccreditation process is partly about compliance,” notes Provost Laura McGrane, “it is also an invaluable opportunity to demonstrate how Lafayette College is advancing its core institutional priorities, highlighting our commitment to academic excellence across the liberal arts and engineering, a holistic and supportive student experience, strong technology and data infrastructure, and a campus culture defined by belonging, inclusivity, and possibility.”
Lafayette is gearing up for its next reaccreditation in academic year 2027-28; this lunch will offer an overview of the process and provide an opportunity to ask questions.
