Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are powerful computer mapping applications that have become increasingly accessible to beginners. The College subscribes to ArcGIS Online (AGOL), a web-based GIS, which is available to all with Lafayette credentials. Because it is so user-friendly, one short introductory workshop can get users started and making their own maps. Join Librarian John Clark for a hands-on introduction to AGOL. Bring your own laptops, and dive right into learning the basics and making your own maps. A limited number of laptops will also be available for use in the workshop. This introductory workshop will be followed by second AGOL workshop a week later that will introduce beginners to a bit more advanced GIS functionality. 2-3 p.m. Fri., Sept. 4Skillman Library, Room 003MORE
