Join the Lafayette College Libraries and Biology Department for a unique data visualization workshop led by New York City-based artist Jer Thorp. Look at the many ways birds become data, and investigate the rich creative possibilities that sit at the intersection of nature, code, and art. Workshop includes a bird walk at Merrill Creek, where you’ll visit some of the birds who’ve chosen to overwinter in Easton, followed by a dataviz workshop in Skillman Library, where you’ll learn how to access data from eBird and make bird data portraits using code and physical materials. Registration is required, as space is limited. Lunch and transportation will be provided. All day Sat., Nov. 7 • Merrill Creek and Skillman Library • REGISTER • MORE
