Since 2017, the College has been working with students and alumni to develop a program for a new Portlock Black Cultural Center. In alignment with the second phase of its McCartney housing project, Lafayette plans to move the house at 517 Clinton Terrace to 41 McCartney St., at the corner of McCartney and Hart streets, to serve as a new Portlock Center. It will be in place before the existing building and the others in its square block are taken down to make room for student housing. Read more.
